UPDATE FEBRUARY 12/2012:
We have received several Emails today in reference to ads posted on Kijiji and information that we feel should be added to this site. In all fairness to you, the reader ad consumer, we will be posting them as received. Please be advised that the content may in some way bother some. However, here we look at it as being the true people behind the reason for this website. It is important to know and understand that some people are playing cards with many of the card missing from the deck. This is obviously true from the author of the Kijiji Postings and other information that will be shared on the Sheriff's page and Updated areas taking in Complaints and Consumer Concerns. By the authors own wording, these will clearly spell out, both the calibre and the ability of reasoning, when it comes to being both fair and rational in reference to a complaint or inquiry. In reference to the ads copied and placed below, it is interesting to match all of the phone numbers with the BBB files and letter sent to us, and responded to us below.
It is not our policy to advertise for Kijiji or the ad posters in general. Nonetheless, what is important here is to know that all of these ads are basically the same person but done under many names and different writing as to throw unsuspecting people and consumers off. These are in response to the Kijiji ID #'s that the letter from Allen and Susan inquired about. What is important is to check these ads with phone numbers listed and with complaints against on the BBB files enclosed below.
What I find sad here is that this individual hides behind a picture taken off of a computer ad for something else and pretends it is him. For me, the question is simple, 'HOW DOES ONE GET SUCKERED INTO TRUSTING AN INDIVIDUAL AS THIS? It is bad enough to play games on the Internet, but avoiding the real issues such as responsibility and integrity is something else. What I find amazing is that individual feels he is being treated unfairly. PLEASE NOTE his 2nd ad below where he feels/thinks someone is Bullying him. HELLO......is this the kettle calling the pot black? So, let's get this straight for the record. He operates under the many names and phone numbers dedicated to him in the articles and ads below. He has screwed countless people out of monies by short cording wood on deliveries and making himself UNAVAILABLE for comments and complaints. On top of that, he blames everyone while NOT TAKING the BLAME himself for the wrongs he has done. So, I appeal to you.....DOES THIS MAKE US WRONG FOR BRINGING THIS ALL FORTH SO THAT YOU, THE CONSUMER, CAN FIND A BIT OF PROTECTION IN KNOWING ONE OF TWO THINGS.
(1) HE DEFINITELY FUNCTIONS IN AN UNPREDICTABLE MANNER AND FASHION, AND IN DOING SO, ACCEPTS NO BLAME FOR HIS ACTIONS.
(2) HE HIDES BEHIND NAMES AND FENCES SO THAT NO ONE CAN FIND HIM AND LEARN HIS TRUE IDENTITY.
And what is outrageous, he still has the audacity to advertise under the same names and some of the phone numbers as before with all of the complaints and BBB reposts against him. On top of that, he wants your business and expects you to trust him. SO PEOPLE......if you have a story....SHARE IT.

Allen;
I am not sure where to
begin. You do pose many good questions. I am pleased that you found my site both
informative and educational. I am sorry in a way my site made you cautious about
whom to trust. Sadly, this is about educating the public on WHO NOT TO TRUST. As
for the comments on and about Kijiji, in my personal opinion there are many
issues there that do fail when it comes to protecting the public. Sadly, it is
more of an open forum where anyone can do and say pretty well what they want no
matter if it is true or not.
Now, to address the
content issue you have brought forth, that does concern me. I have looked up the
ID.#’s on the ads you bring forth and can refer you to section #8 on the old
site as Sheriffs Reports and will say that these are all of the same author.
Careful and misleading wording WITHOUT NAMES and LOCATIONS leave you, the
consumer, lost in hopes of getting their trust through a multiple of many
deceiving forms of packaging. There is no doubt these people are well skilled in
the art of deceiving. If not, they would have not gotten away with it for so
long. As for the others, there are a few more I viewed this morning that are
also the same two people.
As for the jumbled
information, when one chooses to use plagiarism as a form of their advertising
format, and DO NOT have the education and ability to comprehend what they are
re-writing or quoting, it becomes nothing more than a misleading bunch of words
without content. That you will find is the case on the ads you quote above.
Matching the phone numbers to the ads above on section #8, tells the story
between BBB complaints and co-incidental info as their story is still about
screwing someone over. My view is that the persons are finally realizing they
should not have entered into the valley of death by chastising me for doing
nothing wrong.
As for what Kijiji
allows, only continued complaints from people as you and Susan MAY MAKE a
difference. We have no control over what they will allow and tolerate. Much of
what is posted on Kijiji pertaining to firewood is nothing more than people
trying to find a way to take advantage of others as long as the seller is in
control. There are probably a few honest ones there. However, if they are honest
and sincere, they should be willing to post proper addresses, names, faces and
methods of earning peoples trust. If not, and in my opinion, they are no better
than the others.
You bring up the
comment of content being a form of rambling. So True. However, what would you
expect from people who DO NOT KNOW the product, and see others, as people
walking about with a real live bulls eye attached to their face waiting to be
suckered in by their proven methods. As for the addresses question you bring
forth; this has been my argument with Kijiji from day one. The posting of fake
addresses on ads, gives, and lends no protection to the consumer. And no – that
is not normal in business. In business, it is important for people to know where
you are and always be able to contact you. That is the true and honest sign of
retailing and selling.
As far as the pictures
posed in many of these ads, and several of the ones you quote above, these are
drawn from paid picture sites, other Kijiji ads from across the different
Countries, and copies from ads in magazines. These are there to paint a picture
to draw on the greed and stupidity of people who want to believe we all live in
a field of flowers and not reality. Photoshop and computers will someday be the
ruination of the universe. As for cording palleted and binned product, I can old
say two things: (1) it is a poor poor way to sell wood since there is no way to
make an accurate cordage count. (2) Anyone selling in this form, bins or truck
compartments will be the winner because it is one of the easiest ways to jiggle
cord count. The only way to buy wood is tiered on the truck in piled cords or
measure the truck box to verify before dumping that the box will hold what the
seller says.
As for adding more to
the site, it is too long now. However, I will think about it. And thanks for
writing and reading my site.

I have spent
about 5 hours on your main website and find it more than educational. In the
process, I am needing wood but find that your site has made me very cautious on
who to trust. My wife and I have spent about an hour on Kijiji last night going
over your ad and about 10 others. I am confused on much of the content offered
on several of them beginning with ad number 353379549,, 349606688,, 352983334,,
351228630,, 352973313. there are others but since these are on the top ads list
like yours they draw more attention. I find the info offered in these are
jumbled and misleading as to what a person should be looking for when it comes
to buying wood. I also note that many of these numbers are also in the report
that is in section #8 in Sheriff Updates. If these are there and there are
multiples of complaints registered, why are they advertising their goods on
Kijiji? I find the ad #352973313 as words and comments out of your original site
pertaining to the breakdown on British Thermal Units totally confusing and
without any detail in content. I know from reading your site that there is more
to it than that. Are these people this crooked that they cannot think for
themselves?
As for the content
overall, my wife and I feel that of the 7 ads we did pin point, are two or three
of the same persons. Is that a policy that Kijiji does allow? Isn’t that a form
of false advertising in some sense? I find the amount of rambling between the
ads very deceptive and all in all, somewhat lacking in the ability to bring
forth a true picture of what is offered. We have tried to check on the addresses
and cannot find nothing for any of them. Is that normal in your business?
Having read your ad and
studied your website, I do agree that no one should buy from or even consider
purchasing from anyone who does not give full details such as proper names and
phone numbers, proper addresses and yard so that persons can inspect the
operation. We comment you for that. Furthermore, where do these pictures come
from? I know these are not the products being sold as they appear. BTW, on the
palleted and binned product, how does one actually cord this? A lot of these are
questions I find is not in your site. Perhaps you could investigate that and
make a report for those of us who want to purchase smaller
amounts.

Hi John;
I would like to thank you for contacting me. However, I will answer this as simple as I can. Conifer Trees (Larch Tree or from the Larch Family) or like any numerous coniferous trees - the genus larix - all having the same thing in common, as deciduous needle like spurs, or needle like leaves so to speak, do not lose the sap in the winter as do LEAF BEARING TREES OR SHRUBS. Trees, such as fir, spruce, the pine family in general, hemlock and cedar, all fall in this category. The only one excluded is the Hackmatac. It is like the hardwood in this aspect whereas it does lose the needles as the sap goes to the roots. The simplest way to define this is that ANY GYMNOSPERMOUS tree, or shrub that bears cones, or has a make-up of cone formatted seedlings, is from the above tree family.
In response to your questions, I will answer them as simple as I can. This is a very poor and stupid practice unless YOU ARE SKILLED in the process and have the correct place to perform it. In the house or car garage is not it. First, and personally, I do not care what the price is. It is greener wood than hardwood for this time of year. Delivery fees should not be the concern. As for the drying procedure, unless you are opting to do this in a HEATED AREA above the temperatures of 55 degrees Fahrenheit, you will find that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to keep the Dehumidifier from freezing up. This in turn can cause overheating on the unit and a possible threat of fire. This is because you will be removing too much moisture from the air in the process in a cold temperature atmosphere. On top of that, one must consider the TAR BASED DRYING smell that will emanate through the house from the softwood. This can also do damage to your machine. The tar base is not PRESENT in HARDWOOD. As for the safety on the issue, I do suggest contacting both the Fire Department for advice, your electrician, and your Insurance Company to make sure your home insurance will cover this form of outright negligence.

After discussions with the R.C.M.P. last night in Cole Harbour, it has been verified that there is a suspicions wood operation functioning as a vague business from Bissett Road off of Cole Harbour Road. We have now downloaded the mapping area and have noted this as a 'PLACE OF INTEREST' and suggest the updated articles from Ed and Heather be followed, compared and continued through all of the Kijiji correspondence and added comments.
On a 'WITHOUT PREJUDICE' basis, I do suggest that this location on Bissett Road be looked into by anyone who has been cheated, burned, scammed, and/or had dealings with anyone that could not be tracked down through Police, The B.B.B. and with your own personal attempts to follow up on any individuals selling, that sold and/or delivered them wood. Who knows, perhaps a visit may reveal more than you think. On the other hand, a face to face could get you the information you finally needed to take the individual that you needed to court.

Please take notice of new additional information now posted on the Home Page in reference to an issue dated January 17-2012 through contact with one of the Scammers of Wood Sales and updated references to Kijiji going on in the H.R.M area and Province of N.S..
Further to that, please check in the Comment Section #9, for some updated references on the same individual. I am looking for your story if you have been scammed. There are several of us who want this person out of the business once and for all. It will be my goal to make public your story, all of the associated names he has used in the past and present. Please contact me thru the below posted Email. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE OFF whereas the BBB and Police can do nothing at this point in time.
